Kohli hints 4 players in bowling department for Test match

    30 August 2019

India is ready to take on West Indies tonight at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. With only two weeks left to end their winning streak, the team is intensely preparing to clinch the last two Test match series against the rival team.

India team captain Virat Kohli hinted during an interview the possibility of a four-bowler strategy.

"We could not look at the wicket as it was still covered. After looking at the pitch, it is more or less a choice between three quicks and a spinner or two quicks and two spinners," he said.

"The last time England played here, the pitch had quite a variable bounce so all those factors come into play. But we are very flexible and open at the moment," he added.

Kohli is a big an of having five bowlers in matches. Tonight's Test match is India's first test match game after seven months.

Kohli said that after losing their last Test match against in Perth taught him what the team needs for this match against West Indies.

"The loss at Perth. It gave us a pretty fair idea of what we needed to do. In terms of going into the next Test in Melbourne and how we needed to approach the game. And that is why we ended up winning the series."

"We have learnt quite a bit (in Test cricket). Capitalising when the situation is with us and need to control damage when things are stacked up against us. That is the most important part of Test cricket. You can't lose six wickets in a session and then expect to come back," he added.

If Kohli pulls off the test match, he will break Dhoni's record of most wins as Indian test captain. cricket scores from the previous match:  India 256/4, West Indies: 240/7.

India's tour of West Indies will mark the beginning of both teams' campaign in the World Test Championship.
