    Keep Indian Cricket on Top

    14 August 2019

After their defeat in the Cricket World Cup semi-final, India is now rising again as they whitewashed the West Indies for three consecutive T20I matches. There are impressive records made during the matches because of the performance they produce.

The 2023 World Cup is a few years away but for Virat Kohli, the team is focused to keep Indian cricket at the top. "It's too far away to think about the 2023 World Cup. For us, the priority has been always to be one of the most consistent sides in world cricket. And in the last three-four years, we have been able to achieve that. We are the number two side in the world and there's a good reason for that. Sometimes, we have moved up to the top spot as well,"

"You really start planning for the World Cup with 12 months to go. The priority is to keep Indian cricket at the top, play consistent cricket, go out there and win games and that's the reason why we are one of the top sides in the world," Kohli said.

The India national cricket team embarked for their 2019 West Indies tour. They played their first two T20Is against the Windies in Lauderhill, Florida while the third match took place in Guyana. India defeated West Indies by seven wickets as seen in the latest cricket score.

Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who fills in the spot of MS Dhoni, showed brilliant performance in the field during the third T20I. In partnership with Kohli, they stitched 106 runs for the team. Unlike the first two T20Is, he was disappointed at his failure to score runs.

Kohli praised Pant for his performance and skills that he showed in the series. He said that he’s looking forward to seeing Pant’s future performances like what he has seen in the third T20I.

On Thursday, the two teams will face their first ODI. A lot of cricket news sites like Betwala are focused on covering the West Indies tour 2019.
