Supporting small businesses as an initiative sprung into action with people supporting local and small business owners. The survey underlined that one in four shoppers purchased gifts online supporting small businesses. 21% of Gen Zers were planning to purchase from black-owned businesses, showing their support for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement. 12% were planning to buy from businesses that publicly support the BLM movement.
“This research shows that shoppers are increasingly moving online and using their dollars to support brands that reflect their personal values, and impact their local community,” says Bridget Weston, Chief Executive Officer of SCORE.
