The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has released the results of a SkillSelect invitation round conducted on 11th February 2020, wherein a total of 1,500 candidates under the Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) and Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) were issued invitations.
1,000 candidates under the Subclass 189 Visa – who scored 90 or more points – and 500 candidates under the Subclass 190 Visa – who scored 85 or more points – were invited to apply for the relevant visa. Candidates who practice certain pro-rata occupations had to meet a different point threshold.
Aspirants for General Skilled Migration visa categories must submit Expressions of Interest online via SkillSelect. Each candidate is allocated a point score based on several selection factors. Highest-scoring candidates who meet the point cut-off – which changes with every invitation round – receive invitations to apply. Within 60 days of receiving the invitation, a complete application must be submitted to the DHA.
