Thickness of the PCB and power handling
The total thickness of a printed circuit board is the sum of all the layers that make up a PCB. The core layer, preparation layers, and copper layers make up the majority of the PCB thickness. Despite the possibility of extra layers on a PCB, such as two solder masks and one silkscreen layer, their contribution to the overall thickness is far less. The core layer makes the board sturdy, the prepreg layers offer insulation, and the copper layers offer a conduit for signal flow and numerous connectors among the thicker layers. Therefore, a board's functionality greatly depends on the PCB thickness.
