The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) introduced new guidelines, leading mobile service providers to offer different recharge plans for voice calls and SMS for consumers who are not using data.
This change mainly targets to users, such as older people or families with home internet connectivity, who don't need any mobile data.
The rule removing the restriction on ₹10 for top-up vouchers aims to provide customers with more convenient recharging options. However, TRAI has guaranteed that the new regulations won't harm the government's initiative for data inclusion.
