How to Use the Feature ‘Print Screen’ on HP?

    18 June 2019

To use the print screen feature on the HP device, there is a different process for every operating system. Go through the guide given below or give a call at the HP Printer Support Phone Number.

    1. For Windows 8 and 10

    * First of all, look for the ‘Print Screen’ key on your keyboard. The ‘Print Screen’ key will be given in the upper-right corner of the keyboard near the ‘Delete’ key. If the keyboard has a number pad on the right side, you can look for the print screen key left of the top row of keys on the number pad.

Next, find the ‘Windows’ key that has the ‘Windows’ logo on it and can be found in the lower-right section of the keyboard.

If the text ‘print screen’ is at the bottom of the key and there is some text below the key instead of at the top, you will be required to use the Fn key to make your computer recognize the Print Screen function. You can search for the Fn key in the lower-left side of the keyboard.

Now, you have to ensure that your screen is displaying what you want to screenshot. Open the page or program in which you want to take a screenshot.

After this, hold down the Windows key and if the ‘prt sc’ text is below another text item on the Print Screen key, you need to hold down the Fn key as well.

Press and hold the Print Screen key and keep holding the Win key while doing this.

Leave the hold of all keys when the screen dims. This means that Windows has taken a screenshot of your screen's contents.

If the screen does not dim, follow the process again carefully.

If there is an issue, you can simply call at the HP Customer Care Number.

    1. For other Windows

After following the 4 steps mentioned above, follow the rest of the procedure:

Press the ‘Prt Scr’ key that will copy a screenshot of your screen's contents to the clipboard. You will not get any visual indication that a screenshot has been taken. If the ‘prt sc’ text is below another text item on the Print Screen key, you need to hold down the Fn key as well.

Next, click the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

Enter ‘Paint’ and then click Paint at the top of the Start menu.

Paste the screenshot using CTRL+V. You will see the screenshot in the Paint window.

Click File given in the upper-left side of the screen and you will see a drop-down menu.

Select ‘Save as’ option given in the File drop-down menu. A pop-out menu will appear.

Click PNG or JPEG in the pop-out menu that will open a File Explorer window.

Enter a name you want to use for the screenshot into the ‘File name’.

Select the folder in which you want to save the file.

Click Save and this will save your screenshot in the selected folder.
