Batalla de Flores is an activity that closes La Gran Fira de València. Introduced in 1891 at the initiative of Pasqual Frígola, baron of Cortes de Pallás, it began to be held on the Paseo de la Alameda, in imitation of similar playful combats that were celebrated with great splendor in Nice, on the Côte d’Azur, during its festivities of the Carnival, and that later would also be exported to other European and Spanish cities.
