Plaster skimming is where a finishing plaster is used on walls or new plasterboard to create a smooth finish. This allows you to then paint over it or apply wallpaper.
Give the walls in your home a great new smooth finish with our Plaster Skimming service.
What’s the difference between plastering and skimming? The terms plastering and skimming are often used interchangeably, but they are different processes. Traditional plastering is a long process where different coats of plaster need to be applied, and each coat needs to dry before applying the next coat.
But plastering has adapted over the years, and sometimes only one coat of skim plaster is applied to speed things up. The result is a great finish that looks like a traditional plaster finish but is quicker, more affordable, and more convenient to apply.
At William Bain & Sons we offer a full range of plastering services.
