About
Verdia’s mission is to accelerate the transition to clean, sustainable energy. We help large companies develop and deliver projects that reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
Our story
Global warming is the most pressing challenge of our times. Australia has committed to dramatically cut emissions by 2030. But without the business world on board, we simply will not meet our target.
Frank Paduch and Paul Peters founded Verdia in 2015 to help businesses move faster towards cleaner, sustainable energy. Coming from corporate consulting and strategy, they understood that businesses would act when the case for renewables was so strong that it no longer made sense to ignore it.
And yet… electricity prices were rising dramatically, while energy efficient technologies were cheaper than ever. The business case for clean energy was obvious; but most businesses weren’t moving. Why?
Verdia delved into the problem and discovered three key stumbling blocks for businesses:
1. Lack of confidence in technology and suitability. Fragmented market with many vendors offering a single technology or having conflicted interests.
2. Pace to realise benefits. Difficult to rollout projects across multiple sites, in multiple states at the same time when energy projects are not core business.
3. High risk. Businesses often don’t have in-house resources with the expertise to identify and mitigate risks throughout the project.
