Is it difficult to learn Arabic? Yes, it is a challenging but rewarding endeavor. Arabic is not just a spoken language among people, like other languages, rather it is the language through which Almighty Allah spoke with to our prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). It is the language of the Qur'an.
Arabic is one of the Semitic languages, the fourth most spoken language in the world, with nearly 467 million people speaking it worldwide and the official language for the Arab and some other countries.
Indeed, learning a new language is always a courageous step, but when a new language does not share roots with your native language, it is even more difficult. So, as a beginner, How To Learn Arabic? What are the most useful steps that simplify the learning process?
Arabic has an entirely different system of alphabets, and there are almost no shared words between it and the English language. Fortunately, there are useful steps for a learner to make the learning method easier. Without a doubt, these steps need perseverance, commitment, hard work, and time.
Step 1 - Decide Which Form of the Arabic Language You Want to Learn
You have to choose which type of the Arabic language you need to learn since there are three types; which are:
The new standard Arabic language
The non-standard Arabic (which has many dialects such as the Egyptian, Levantine, Moroccan, Iraqi, and others)
Sometimes an Arabic speaker cannot understand other dialects even if both have the same origin, Arabic. A very critical reason that may help a foreigner to choose which type to learn is the purpose he/ she seeks. For instance, if you are a Muslim and you want to learn how to read the Holy Qur'an, to feel the sweetness of the words of the Almighty Allah, and to understand his teachings, you need to learn the old standard Arabic. Also, if you want to learn Arab history or science, the new standard Arabic will be sufficient for this purpose. Whereas if you want to know the Arab culture, understand their music and films hence the dialectic language should be your choice. You need to choose which one is suitable for you to learn; the Egyptian and Levantine are the most popular ones.

A good upbringing is one of the most valuable gifts that parents can give to their children. Parenting can pose to be a difficult task and it can get a little confusing for parents. When it comes to Islamic parenting, there are certain principles that parents can follow to ensure that their kids turn out to be God-fearing beings who will be an asset to the Ummah (community). Here's a look at the important principles:
Parents as best role models
When children are young, they are in the process of learning the difference between right and wrong and the proper way to behave in an environment. It is the responsibility of parents to teach their kids how to do this and the best way to do this is by leading through their own examples. It is the responsibility of parents to teach kids how to select a good environment and how to choose the kind of people that should be in that environment. This will make sure that the deeds of the kids turn out to be pure and good. Children have an inborn nature to be good and pure and that deserves to be nurtured. Parents are the ones who have the onus to guide and take care of their kids. If left alone, kids can steer in any direction depending on the kind of people they interact with. Parents need to lead by example by doing good first as their kids will model their behavior.
Children are born pure
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "No child is born except on Al-Fitra (Islam) and then his parents make him Jewish, Christian or Magian, as an animal produces a perfect young animal: do you see any part of its body amputated?" (Sahih Bukhari)
The importance of Islamic education is rising everywhere. Not only for adults, but it is also equally important for youngsters to study Islam. Getting Islamic education at an early stage is beneficial as one learns the topics more easily and efficiently. This is why online Islamic studies are a great option for Muslim parents.
As we are living in a digital world, parents and children can truly benefit from taking Islamic classes online. There are so many institutes that are offering a way for kids and teens to complete Islamic courses without leaving their regular school. It is also a good option for those who are living in areas where mosques, Islamic schools or centers are not present, or whose in-person options are limited due to Covid-19.
One of the many benefits ofonline Islamic studiesfor kids is that they can learn and attend their classes all from the comfort and safety of their home. Not only do kids feel comfortable, but parents also remain worry-free. Many parents are already taking advantage of enrolling their children into online classes, especially since the beginning of the pandemic, as it remains the easiest, most convenient and most reliable option amidst the uncertainties of the current situation worldwide.

My adventure in learning the wonderful Deen of Al-Islam has brought me upon many paths. For so many years, since embracing Islam, I have had a deep desire to Learn Arabic Language. It is the language of the Noble Qur’an, the last revelation from God to mankind. My adventure is an ongoing process and with the help of Studio Arabiya teachers, it has become a very exciting and interactive journey. I am definitely a baby when it comes to knowing much Arabic. I can read Arabic, but to really know what I’m reading has been an uphill battle for me. With Studio Arabiya, I’ve been able to gain a partner in my efforts to learn Arabic. Whenever I’m stuck on something that I really cannot translate easily into English, my Studio Arabiya teacher, Reem, helps me quickly.
blog studying arabic
I’ve been learning with Studio Arabiya for a while now, and I’ve been fortunate to have a few Arabic teachers along the way. These changes came about due to my schedule and now I’ve settled down with teacher Reem and she is really great! In fact, I cannot say enough about all of my Studio Arabiya teachers. They are all polite and pleasant and really delightful to interact with and learn from, alhamdolillah.
The things I’ve found that helps in learning anything – especially to learn Arabic – is to…
Try your best to keep the new Arabic words in your mind and on your tongue.
Say it to your self over and over on a daily basis, so that it becomes like a second nature.
Write down whatever you’re learning in Arabic and read it back to yourself often.
Try to place sticky notes on items with the Arabic names and repeat that every time you pass by.
Get your family involved with learning the new words. My kids love to speak any other language with me. My daughter goes to Muslim school and she tells me what she is learning of Arabic there and I tell her what I’m learning here at Studio Arabiya. We compare notes and try to test one another. It’s like a game and it feels good whenever we can communicate successfully only between one another and keep her Dad or brothers out of the conversation. Then they get curious and start asking us, “What are you guys talking about?”, so we interest them in learning Arabic to keep up with us!

According to Islamic tradition, the Quran was first revealed to Muhammad in 609 CE. Over the next two decades, new surahs were dictated to Muhammad by the angel Gabriel, who was delivering the exact words of God himself. Muhammad’s final meeting with Gabriel came in 632 CE. He died in June of that year.
