What is PRP? Platelet rich plasma is derived from your own blood through an aseptic technique. The blood is drawn from the patient into a sterilized tube. The tube is then centrifuged, and the activated platelets are then withdrawn from the tube and inserted into the patient where the tissue is abnormal or where tissue healing is desired.
There are several advantages to PRP therapy and many patients consider it, especially when other traditional treatments fail to work and provide the desired results. Some of the benefits of this type of treatment include:Helps treat pain that is unresponsive to other medications, Reduces symptoms, Has minimal side effects, Uses your own platelets for better success, Decreases osteoarthritis symptoms quickly.
