Expanded polystyrene, or EPS for short, is a very simple substance with a special mixture of attributes. It's also cheap, offering high R-value per buck.
Expanded foams (EPS) are popularly called bead boards. The raw material is a little bead. All these pre-expanding beads are subsequently treated during an aging procedure. The treated beads are introduced into a mold where additional contact steam softens and extends the beads to match the mold cavity and fuse the beads closely together. The molded foam may be in big rectangular cubes which are further processed by clipping hot wires into regular sized sheets or custom-cut billets. This is referred to as block molding. The basic EPS blocks are trimmed and shaped to generate an assortment of Authentic Foam sheet, panel and board products such as Authentic Wall, True Match, Foundation Plus/Sheathing, Insul Wall, and many others.
