Sasaab is a traditionally tented safari lodge set in Kenya’s Samburu wilderness, near Buffalo Springs and Samburu National Reserve, overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River. The lodge features seven tents plus two interconnected family suites, combining Swahili-style entrances with Moroccan-inspired design. With views toward the Laikipia Plateau and Mount Kenya, it’s a strong base for spotting the Samburu Special Five—Beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Sasaab also supports the local Samburu community through health clinics and conservation initiatives, and received Global Ecosphere Retreat status from The Long Run in 2022.
