You can try the following troubleshooting steps to fix this issue-roku tv keeps going to home screen.




First of all, make sure that the roku device is updated to its latest version.

Secondly, restart your roku device.


  1. Firstly, access the home screen and head to System.
  2. After that, Scroll the list and choose System Restart.
  3. Finally, select the Restart button to start the process.
  4. Now, wait for sometime for Roku to power off and on.
  5. The restarting process is now complete.
  6. If the issue continues, then just power off the Roku device for 2 to 3 minutes and then turn it on.


And if still the issue persists then, remove remove the channel which  the home directed you to the home screen.


To remove channels within channel lineup:


  1. Firstly, press the Home button on the roku remote.
  2. Next, just slightly move to the right on the screen and choose the channels that you want to remove.
  3. After that, press the Start button to access the Options menu.
  4. Finally, choose Remove Channel and make your confirmation on the prompt screen.


To remove channels within the Roku Store:


  1. Press the Home button and choose Streaming channels to launch the Channel store.
  2. And finally, remove the channel that you want and click the OK button for confirmation.
  3. Choose Remove Channel and make your confirmation when the prompt screen appears.
