More and more people decide to do research before renovating or furnishing their home and find out which style resonates to them the most. And after they do the research they plan the next steps. One of them is the virtual staging solution which shows them how their chose style will be implemented in their home. Once it is settled, it’s time for work! To help you get started, I am giving you the nudge to discover what you need. Here are the most popular home design styles right now.
Modern Design Style
It started at the beginning of the 20th century and its main principle is to bring you closer to space and its aesthetics. The concept is very simple, functional with articulated lines and symmetry. The visual simplicity is probably the most important aspect and it is the main reason for the working functionality.
Mid-Century Modern Design Style
The mid-century modern design saw the light of the day after the end of the Second World War. It is characterised by a vivid use of colours, sleek lines and it includes a lot of natural elements. The outdoors is also an important aspect as it brings the residents closer to nature. When it comes to space, it is used in a whole functional way it provides a whole visual clarity. The colours are mainly orange, yellow, green and brown and their hues and undertones.
Minimalist Design Style
Inspired by the Minimalist art movement during the 1960s and 1970s and the traditional Japanese design along with Zen philosophy, the minimalist design encompasses all the purity in the form of furnishings and arrangement. Everything is made basic in an aesthetic way that focuses on the functionality of the design. There is no clutter, distractions and unnecessary décor that crowds the carefully planned space.
Scandinavian Design Style
The style that embodies simplicity, efficiency and functionality. My personal favourite and a top choice of many people who live all around the world. It is very similar to the Minimalist design except for the wider range of colours it uses. The three simple principles of Scandinavian style are organic materials, basic ornaments and sleek details. Black and white are the most common colours but greys, blues, yellows and other lighter shades can also create a phenomenal experience. Also, it includes natural light – lots of it.
Contemporary Design Style
Contemporary is very often mistaken for modern design as the names suggest something current and fresh. However, they are not synonymous. Contemporary is a mixture of the current fashion trends that offers a more balanced and rounded approach to the way we design our homes. The modern, on the other hand, gives the contemporary design the inspiration for being neither cold nor formal. Also, the contemporary design is characterised by warm, cosy spaces.
