    Full Fix: Printer is not responding in Windows 10, 8.1, 7

    Are you getting a "no printer response" error when trying to print a document with Windows 10? If so, there are various types of potential improvements. Read on to learn about them.


    The printer is not responding to the message in Windows 10, how to fix it?


    The unresponsive printer can cause some problems on your PC and prevent you from printing documents. Speaking of this problem, there are some similar problems that the users have told:


    Printer Canon, HP, Epson, is not responding to Samsung. This problem may appear with any printer brand, and if you face this problem, make sure to try some of our solutions.

    The wireless printer is not responding. If you are using a wireless printer on your PC this problem can sometimes appear.     Solution 1 - Check your antivirus and firewall

    Solution 2 - Check all printer connections

     

    The most obvious thing to do first is to check the printer's connections with the desktop or laptop to see if they are all properly plugged in. If the printer connects via USB port, try connecting it with an optional USB port. For Wi-Fi printers, you must check that the printer is connected to the right Wi-Fi network. For example, it might be that the printer is not detecting the correct network name.


    Solution 3 - Run Printer Troubleshooter in Windows 10


    If you do not respond to the printer on your PC, you can fix the problem by running a troubleshooter on your PC. There are various troubleshooting in Windows 10 that can fix common problems, and if you have problems with your printer, then you just need to run the troubleshooter by doing the following:


    1. Click on Windows + I to open the Settings app.

    2. When the Settings app opens, go to the Update and Security section.

    3. Choose Troubleshooting from the left side menu. Select the printer in the right pane, and click Run Troubleshooter button.


    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooter.


    After troubleshooting problems, the problem should be resolved completely.


    Solution 4 - Update the printer driver's driver

     

    Outdated printer drivers cannot respond to the printer's appearance. However, you can fix that problem just by installing the latest drivers for your printer. The simplest way to use Device Manager is to.


    You can update your drivers by doing the following:


    1. Device Manager. You can do this quickly by pressing the Windows key + X and choosing Device Manager from the list.


    2. Move the printers to the list of devices, right-click it and select the update driver.


    3. Now choose an automatic search for updated driver software.


    Windows will now try to download the appropriate drivers for your printer. If that does not work, you can always download the latest driver directly from the manufacturer's website.

    Solution 5 - Is the printer selected the default printer?

Note that Windows 10 has a late Windows that manages my default printer option which automatically configures the last printed printer as your default. You can turn that option off and choose your default printer as follows.


    1. First, insert the printer default printer in the Cortana search box and choose the default printer to open the bottom window directly.

    Solution 7 - Restart the Print Spooler Service

     

    To print, Windows depends on print spooler service, but sometimes there may be some problems with this service. These problems can not respond to the printer for messages and other similar issues. 


    However, you can solve this problem by doing the following:


    1. Press Windows Key + R and enter services.msc. Now press Enter or click OK.


    2. When the service window opens, locate the print spooler service and double click.


    3. When the Properties window opens, set the startup type to Automatic and click the Start button to start the service. If the service is running, click the stop button, wait for a few moments and then click on the Start button.


    4. After doing this, save the changes.


    Once you start this service again, then the problem should be solved completely and everything will start working again.


    Many users are recommending shutting down this service completely and then removing the attached files. It is easy to stop the service, and you can fix it with the service window.

    Once you disable the service, go to the C: Windows System32 spool PRINTERS directory and delete all the files from them. After doing this, start the service once again and check whether the problem still exists.


    Solution 8 - Make sure your printer is configured correctly 

            

    According to users, if your printer is not properly configured, the printer is not responding. To fix that problem, you have to do the following:


    Open Control Panel and go to the Device and Printers section.


    Locate your printer on the list, right-click it and select the printer properties.


    3. Go to the Ports tab, Now make sure that the proper port is selected. After doing this, click Apply to save the changes and click OK.


    After making these small adjustments, check if the problem is resolved with your printer.


    Solution 9 - Install the latest updates


    If the printer is not responding to the message on your PC, then the problem may be a missing update. Sometimes there may be some discrepancies on your system, and to remove them, you need to install the latest updates.


    Microsoft is often issuing new updates, and Windows usually downloads these updates automatically. However, sometimes you can remember an update or two, but you can always manually install them by:


    1. Open the Settings app.


    2. Go to Update and Security section.


    3. Click the Update button.


    Windows will now check available updates and download them in the background. After the update has been downloaded, restart your PC to install them. After updating your PC, the problem should be solved completely.
