Console exclusivity appears to have passed us by. Five years ago, it was unthinkable that games labelled "Only on PlayStation" or "Only on Xbox" would make their way to pcs. However, in 2022, you can safely play God of War, Horizon, and Heavy Rain on PC, and Microsoft has developed a subscription service for Xbox and Windows that includes all new (and many older) games.

Nonetheless, some classic titles remain on consoles, and no formal plans for their transition have been made. We'll cover the finest of them in this piece, but only those that are compatible with the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Many classics remain on the PS3 and Xbox 360, but obtaining these consoles has become difficult, and many consumers are hesitant to purchase an old console for a few titles.

Judgment and Lost Judgment

After years of PlayStation exclusivity, the Yakuza franchise has found its way to Xbox and PC. However, the publisher does not intend to release the Judgment branch franchise on PCs following its release on PlayStation and Xbox. According to media sources, the agency Johnny & Associates has the rights to Takuya Kimura's image - he plays the lead character in Judgment. J&A purportedly exerts stringent control over how artists' appearances and voices are used, while on PC, modders can circumvent all of these agreements.

SEGA, reports have it, is likewise dissatisfied with such rigorous control over the image of its games' heroes. As a result, the continuation of Lost Judgment is in doubt. This does not alter the fact that both games are fantastic - they will appeal to Yakuza fans as well as detective enthusiasts.

Halo 5

The Halo series has long been an Xbox exclusive, but with the launch of Game Pass, the franchise's titles began to gradually migrate to Windows. Halo 1–4 have already been released, as have the Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach spin-offs, while Halo Infinite was released for Windows at the end of last year.

The latter game was a direct sequel to Halo 5, which was never released on PC for unclear reasons. According to some, Microsoft does not wish to revisit one of the series' most infamous failures. Others argue that this is a smart ruse designed to convince you to purchase an Xbox for the sake of a single release. In any event, Halo 5 will remain an Xbox One and Xbox Series exclusive, with no announced intentions for a Windows version.

Gears of War 3 & its prequel, Gears of War 2

A situation comparable to this exists with Gears of War shooters. The initial installment was released on PC in 2007, but the franchise has now evolved into one of the primary Xbox exclusives. Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3 were critically acclaimed and remain fan favorites to this day. It's made all the more infuriating by the fact that both games are currently exclusively accessible on Microsoft consoles.

All future installments of the franchise, including Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, were released on PC, and fans have long awaited a Windows remaster of the trilogy. However, as with Halo 5, Microsoft is not in a hurry.

Red Dead Redemption

According to insiders, the cult western was meant to be launched on PC in a couple of years. There were speculations of a re-release for new platforms and PCs, and later of a full remake using the engine from the second installment. Not a single "leak" has been confirmed, and Rockstar has been silent on RDR for an extended period of time.

Because the events of Red Dead Redemption occur after those of Red Dead Redemption 2, there are bound to be many fans of the sequel who wish to learn more about John Marston's exploits. Of course, many have already viewed the game's guide on YouTube or rented the original console, but we certainly would not turn down an updated version of the western on PC.

The Last Of Us

One of the PlayStation's most popular image series, it follows the exploits of a gang of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world. There are only a few remaining opportunities for The Last of Us to be released, but they do exist.

HBO is currently developing a series that will premiere before the end of the year. According to reports, it will be released alongside a remake of The Last of Us for the PC. Simultaneously, the second installment is unlikely to be released as swiftly - Sony wants to convince gamers to purchase the PS5.

Uncharted Trilogy

In 2022, the Uncharted series' first two games - Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Uncharted 4 - will be released on the PC. And if the spin-off may still be enjoyed with a good conscience, the fourth part's tale for those unfamiliar with the franchise is not the character development from the previous three installments.

It's all the more shocking that Sony has yet to announce plans to distribute the series's initial games. Perhaps a new compilation with improved visuals is in the works, but there are no reports of it at the moment. And it's a shame, since while the first Uncharted is out of date, the sequel and triquel are still fantastic.

Ghost of Tsushima

Severe samurai action proved an unexpected hit with the general public. The game was launched in mid-July, shortly after The Last of Us: Part 2, but immediately sold out with a healthy circulation and smashed multiple records.

Unsurprisingly, Sony is not in a hurry to bring the game to the PC. At the start of 2022, Ghost of Tsushima has sold over 8 million copies, indicating that the game is still performing well. Recently, a director's edition was released with a significant update, and there are no reports of a PC release.
