Char Dham meaning ‘the four abodes’ refers to the names of the four main Hindu pilgrimage places in India. The four temples comprise of Badrinath, Rameswaram, Puri and Dwarka. For ages, saints and pilgrims have been visiting these four temples in search of the divine god. A journey to these four destinations is called Chardham yatra and considered to be of utmost spiritual importance. The Char Dham yatra is considered as the most honored pilgrimage for Hindus that must be visited at least once in his lifetime.
The four destinations are situated in the four corners of India: Badrinath Temple in Badrinath in North India, Jagannath Temple in Puri in East India, Dwarakadheesh Temple in Dwarka in West India and Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram in South India. There are four temples in the Himalayas as well, called Chota Char Dham: Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, all located in the foothills of Himalayas. However, the journey across Badrinath, Rameswaram, Puri and Dwarka is considered as the most sacred one.
If you Hire Tempo Traveller Delhi, you will be provided with a complete Chardham Yatra package.
