The National Flag of Chad, features three equal vertical bands of blue , gold, and red. The flag combines the blue and red French colors with the red and yellow of the Pan-African colors.The blue color represents the sky, the well-watered southern part of the country and also symbolises hope. The golden yellow color represents the sun, as well as the desert in the northern part of the country. The red colour represents progress, prosperity, and unity. It also symbolises the bloodshed for independence.
