    How to Install Fonts on a Mac

    You can print the fonts and gets text characters which include various typeface, point size, weight, color, and design. Each operating system includes some fonts for the text characters. But, users may want to get some other types of fonts instead of the default one. In this article, you will get different methods to install fonts on a Mac.

    Here’s How to Install Fonts on a Mac

    • Install Fonts Using Installer

    1. Press on the Safari symbol.


    2. This symbol is located in the Dock.


    3. It will open the Safari browser.


    4. Find the website from where you wish to download fonts.


    5. Find the font.


    6. Press on the Download option.


    7. It will start the downloading process of a font.


    8. Ensure that you have gone through the license text over the fonts.


    9. In case it indicates ‘Free for personal use’ option, then you cannot use this option for the commercial or business use.


    10. In case it indicates ‘100% free’, then you can use this option for everything.


    11. Go to the Download folder.


    12. It is located on the Dock or Finder folder.


    13. After that, search for the downloaded font.


    14. Then, click twice on the downloaded font.


    15. Now, you will get the Font Book on the screen.


    16. Press on the Install font option.


    17. You will get the font in the User file.


    • Install Fonts Using Copying

    1. Press on the Safari symbol.


    2. It is located in the Dock folder.


    3. Go to the font website in the Safari browser from where you wish to start the downloading process of the font.


    4. Go to the Downloads folder.


    5. You need to unzip the zip files for copying it easily.


    6. Go to any other window with the command mentioned below:


    Users/Your_Username/Library/Fonts


    7. Pull all the files by going to the Downloads folder.


    8. Move and paste the files in the Fonts folder.


    Set Font Book’s Preferences

    • Install Fonts for All Users

    1. Go to the Download folder.


    2. Click twice on the font which you have downloaded from the website.


    3. Now, you will get the Font Book menu on the screen with the install option.


    4. Press on the Font Book option.


    5. It is located in the horizontal bar.


    6. You will get this on the upper side of the screen.


    7. Select the Preferences option.


    8. Start changing the Default Install Location option by going to the User to Computer.


    9. It will start installing the font for all the users on the system instead of a particular user.


    • Copy Fonts for all Users

    1. Go to the finder application.


    2. Press on the Go option.


    3. You will get this option at the horizontal bar.


    4. It is located at the upper side of the display.


    5. Select the Go to Folder option.


    6. Enter the below-mentioned command and after that press on the Go option:


    Library/Fonts/


    7. Start copying the fonts by going to the Downloads folder.


    8. It will add the fonts for the users on the system.


    Steps to Deleting or Turning Off the Fonts on Your Mac

    • Keep pressing on the Command and Space keys together.


    • It will launch the Spotify.


    • Enter the Font Book in the search bar.


    • Press on the Enter option.


    • You will get the option on the left-hand side of the control panel.


    • Find the font in the menu list,


    • You need to right-click on the menu list.


    • Select the Remove “Font_name” Family option.


    • Select the Disable option for turning off it.


    • Verify the action menu by pressing on the Remove option.


    • It will delete the font from the system.
