‘GREEN MOVEMENT’ - AN ACTIVE INITIATIVE BY BDMI

With the end of World War II, Humans now have found ways how to develop technological instruments that are far better to utilize for every sector in the economy, be it in production or services or even in Agriculture. From here in agriculture we see that humans have now started to adopt the practice of modern methods of agriculture than traditional methods, giving rise in the advent of “The Green Revolution” or also known as the “Third Agricultural Revolution”.

This movement adherents to the growing demand for food with respect to the growth in population worldwide and this is important for our country as we are witnessing a rapid growth in population. Without which we would not be able to cope up with the food demands of the people. BDM International acknowledged as one of Kolkata’s best CBSE School supports this movement as it has more advantage than the drawbacks of it.

    • It helps in the reduction of greenhouse gas emission – Green Revolution has helped in high yield approach to agriculture in a more convenient manner causing a drastic fall down of Carbon Emission into the atmosphere. Without which, rapid deforestation would continue to happen, leading to more carbon emission into the air.
    • Increase in the crop production than traditional methods – Because of the processes that are involved in Green Revolution, farmers in India can now grow more crops than before. Rather than following the traditional methods of farming. As the method focuses more onto the varieties that can produce high yield of crops in a variety of environmental situations it adds resiliency to our crops. Thus from the practice of Green Revolution, BDM International also explains our students how to adopt the method of plantation in our own surrounding neighbourhood/surrounding gardens.
    • Causes a reduction in food prices – The movement of Green Revolution has caused the demand and supply forces to be balanced. Helping in bringing down the cost of crop plantation. Thus, farmers can now produce surplus amount of grains/crops in a given space of land as well as store them during emergency purposes. Food access to people in India, in most developing nations as well as in all developed nations has become easier because of the technology involved in Green Revolution.
    • It caused a reduction in deforestation activity as well as an increase in plantation activity that can be done anywhere on the planet–The method of Green Revolution helps to curb out the practice of deforestation. Something, which BDM International explains to the students why deforestation is bad for the environment as farmers are now able to grow more crops in a given area of farm field. This method of agriculture has also helped in growing plants in our own garden or societal garden.

Green Revolution has been an advantage for the world to build a better tomorrow and BDM International takes this as an important step to help make the environment better for people across the globe.
