How the Pandemic Made us See All the Positives of Online Learning

22 October 2021

When the pandemic hit, we all needed to reevaluate our priorities, and most of all, stay at home. But our lives had to continue, in every form possible, avoiding going outside. Thus, we needed to think of a way to still stay in school and keep doing our jobs, with the restrictions.

Hence online learning was born. And it changed our lives, for the better.

And here is how.

You can’t be late to class

Online learning has proven almost impeccable, in the way that you can attend all the classes from the comfort of your home, never having to move more than just a couple of feet to fetch the computer. It has substantially cut time on waking up, showering, getting dressed, having breakfast, and getting out the door. On average, you save an hour a day by just omitting the necessity to get out the door.

Even if it happens that you sleep in, just open up your laptop, and you’re there. Imagine how perfect this is for people who like to sleep in.

No time lost commuting

When we are already on the subject of time, and losing time on redundant obligations, commuting is another huge plus of online learning. You no longer have to get out in the cold, commute to your place of learning, worry if you are going to be late, get stuck in traffic, and so forth. Now, your only commute is from your bed to your computer, and maybe getting a cup of tea or coffee for yourself.

Additionally, online lessons are far cheaper than regular school tuition, given the new circumstances, giving students and their parents an opportunity to save money.

All the courses are readily available non-stop

Another beauty of online classes is that you can log on at any time, and make up for something if you missed a class. Courses are always available to anyone who has a password, and you can access them from any device you have - a computer, a tablet, a phone. Great for working people, or parents with young children, who do not have time to sit through a class during the day, but have a lot of time on their hands in the evening to go through everything that they need to, in order to learn.

Online learning gives an incredible opportunity that classroom learning cannot - flexibility, and perfect time management.

This is good for people who have learnt to manage their time effectively, however, a downside can be that people who are not so good at time management and depend on a fixed schedule and a teacher to be productive, may suffer.

The LMS is equally efficient and proficient

When the schools shut down last year, the need for a capable LMS skyrocketed. With a good LMS, the emphasis is on decreasing learning time. As a result, it's critical to choose a decent RTO LMS that gives students enough access, efficiency, and progress monitoring.

As stated above, organization may be the sole issue with online learning, but a solid LMS keeps all of the learning resources in one location, removing this issue completely, as well as some other issues that may arise. Furthermore, with an effective LMS e-learning platform, the curriculum is particularly designed to meet the requirements and desires of students.

It encourages people to interact socially

Even while most people believe that the main drawback of online learning is that students would be deprived of social connection, this is not the case. People didn't have the opportunity to meet and speak in person during the lockdown, but internet platforms allowed them to do so.

Due to various digital benefits such as video calling, texting, voice messaging, and other, students had a fantastic opportunity to meet and see their peers, chat to one another in real-time, and participate in an online conversation, all thanks to online learning platforms and online classes. These online technologies enhance student-teacher interaction, making it even more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Building the network has never been easier

Online learning is a great way to connect with people of similar interests. No matter which part of the world you live in, the Internet gives you the opportunity to actually connect with, and even meet people of similar interests, that you can connect with and interact with in the future.

Even if you do not study the exact same thing, but have the same passion, and similar interests, as well as the goals in the future, connecting this way has proven fruitful for many young people.

Networking is an important part of building a future, so it is a perfect opportunity to explore now, and save the connections for later in life if you need them.

This pandemic has proven that online learning is the best solution for the vast majority of people, who now have both the opportunity and the time to study what they always wanted to.
