Each of the two ball valves is equipped with independent mechanisms for opening and closing, allowing isolation on both sides of the valve.

How Does the Double Block and Bleed Ball Valve Works?

The basic design of a double block and bleed ball valve consists of two tightly sealed systems that are then separated by a third port “bleed”.The first two ports are known as the  block valves, which regulates the  flow of liquid or gas through the valve.

The bleed port is mostly used to release any remaining pressure or air from the systems before its closure. The main benefit of this valve is its ability to hold back pressure while still allowing the complete or partial shut-off of the system.

In operation, the valve works by turning the handle on top of the valve to the open position. When opened it allows both valves to allow fluid and gases to pass through it. When you want to shut off the flow, you turn the handle again to its close position, then both block valves get closed and open the bleed port. This releases any leftover pressure inside the valve, allowing the complete shut off of the flow of gases and fluids.
