The news isn’t good about energy prices. The energy price cap will increase from 1 April 2022 for approximately 22 million homes. In effect, this will mean that people on default tariffs paying by direct debit will see an increase of £693 from £1,277 to £1,971 per year. This is a result of global energy prices rising and isn’t unique to the UK.
