Nambi Narayanan joined ISRO in the year 1966 and in the early 1970 he invented the liquid fuel rocket technology. He knew the necessity of liquid filled engines to India for upcoming projects. He was supported by his successor Satish Dhawan and Nambi first built the 600kg thrust engine .he was assigned with the in charge of the cryogenic division.
